Social Emotional Learning

Every session weaves in skills like managing emotions, resolving conflict, and building confidence, because how kids show up on the field shapes how they show up everywhere else.

Sport is the vehicle. Social Emotional Learning is the destination. At Free Play, every session is built around our evidence-informed curriculum, Sport to Life, which weaves skills like emotional regulation, conflict resolution, goal-setting, and self-confidence into the games kids are already playing. These aren't add-on lessons, they're built into the way coaches structure activities and guide conversations on the field. Kids learn to name what they're feeling, work through disagreements with peers, and show up for their team even on hard days. The research is clear that these skills improve outcomes in school, at home, and eventually in the workplace, and we start building them early.
