Jr. Wolves
Multi-Sport House League Program
About
Jr. Wolves is a multi-sport house league program for Grade 6 athletes at select schools. Each school has a girls team and a boys team. It is the next step for kids who are ready to take their game further.
The program runs three seasons from October to June, each focused on a different primary sport: soccer, basketball, and ball hockey. This is intentional. Research on long-term athlete development shows that kids who play multiple sports at this age become better athletes in every sport they choose. Jr. Wolves is built on that idea.
At the end of the year, Jr. Wolves athletes earn the chance to try out for the Wolves Athletic Club in the sport they love most.
Schedule
Every week, athletes attend one practice at their school, 5:00-6:00PM and one game day near their school (5:00PM+). Transportation is provided from school to games and back.
PD Days are full days: skills in the morning, tournament games in the afternoon. Families will receive the full schedule, including PD Day dates, at the start of the program.
Jr. Wolves runs three seasons across the program year. Each season has a primary sport for weekly practices and game days, and a secondary sport featured on school PD Days.

What Kids Will Learn
Multi-sport athleticism
By competing in three sports across the year, athletes build movement skills: agility, coordination, endurance, and spatial awareness, that carry over into every sport they play. Season to season, they get better at being athletes, not just at one game.
Competition skills
Weekly game days and end-of-season tournaments give athletes real competitive experience in a supported environment. Coaches focus on development: reading the game, making decisions under pressure, and learning from both wins and losses.
Sport leadership and teamwork
Jr. Wolves uses the same social-emotional learning approach as Free to Play. Athletes learn to lead, communicate, and support their teammates on and off the court or field. These are skills that go well beyond sport.
A pathway to the next level
In the spring, Jr. Wolves athletes can try out for the Wolves Athletic Club — in soccer, basketball, or ball hockey, whichever sport they want to pursue. Tryout opportunities are built into the program calendar, and coaches connect interested athletes and families with next steps.

Program Costs

All we ask is that families contribute back in other ways such as: completing surveys, volunteering, or sharing your story.
Our goal is to ensure that every youth has the chance to experience supportive coaching and mentorship. We also believe that the best teams, programs, and communities are built when people from different backgrounds come together and support one another.
