Daily Snacks + Food Classes

Kids take part in a monthly food literacy class, learn to make a real recipe, and go home with a hamper of ingredients to recreate it with their family.

Hungry kids can't focus, and kids who don't know how to cook can't feed themselves. Free Play addresses both. Every child receives a healthy daily snack, and once a week they take part in a food literacy class where they learn to prepare a real recipe from scratch — think grilled cheese, Greek salad, or a simple stir fry. Then they go home with a hamper of the ingredients to make it again with their family. Over time, these sessions build a skill set that outlasts the program: kids who know how to read a recipe, handle kitchen utensils safely, and make something nutritious from a handful of basic ingredients are better equipped for life, full stop.
