Tim Adams — Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame’s Community Champion

This might be our most special Jumpstart Champion so far, because it is none other than our own Founder and Executive Director, Tim Adams.

In recognition of his efforts over nearly two decades with Free Play for Kids, Tim will be honoured with the first-ever Community Champion Award, alongside Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026.

The number of Edmonton kids impacted by Free Play for Kids as a direct result of Tim’s dedication is immeasurable. From a problem he identified doing a story as a journalist for the CBC in one school, Free Play for Kids is now in 26 schools providing support for 500+ Edmonton kids after the bell rings — daily.

Thank you Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities for this honour, and for powering our soccer pathway Tim has been building for nearly 20 years!

From all of the coaches, volunteers, teachers, principles, janitors, donors, supporters, and staff that have been a part of this incredible accomplishment … CONGRATULATIONS TIM! 🎉
