Episode 2 — Foundations: Where Teamwork Takes Shape

What do constructing homes and developing young athletes have in common? More than you might think.

Foundations: Where Teamwork Takes Shape 🏗️⚽

In episode 2 of More Than a Game: Daytona Homes Wolves, we explore the parallels between building strong foundations for Edmonton families and for the next generation of community leaders from the U17 Wolves soccer team.

Key takeaways from the field and the job site:

✅ Clear communication drives success
✅ Accountability strengthens the entire team
✅ When everyone pulls in the same direction, exceptional things happen
✅ Strong foundations today support tomorrow's achievements

This partnership between Free Play for Kids and Daytona Homes Master Builders showcases how Edmonton businesses and non-profits can work together to create lasting impact in our #YEG community.

Episode 3 — The Mindset Build: Words that Matter

Episode 3 — The Mindset Build: Words that Matter 🧠⚽

Ever feel nervous before something big? That's not weakness, it's not even nerves, it's just your body getting ready to perform. 💙

In this episode, Daytona Homes’ Construction Manager Moses Myrol talks to our U17 Wolves Soccer team pre-game about performance anxiety. Moses explains how to use that nervous energy as fuel instead of letting it hold you back in those pressure packed moments.

This is an important lesson the whole Daytona Homes and Free Play staff exchange with this U17 team in a fun filled scrimmage between the groups earlier in the season. Because the skills you learn managing pressure at 16, can be used in every big moment for the rest of your life.

Episode 4 — Player Spotlights: The Kids Behind the Jerseys

Two and a half years. That's how long this pack has been building together.

In Episode 4 of More Than a Game: Daytona Homes Wolves, we go past the game results, with Ian, Kenan, and Jalil opening up about what this team has taught them, what they're working toward, and what it actually means to play with purpose.

"You gotta do things for a purpose. Not just in sports, but like, in real life. Everything you do has to have a purpose behind it. If it doesn’t have a purpose, then why do it." — Ian describing a lesson emphasized by Coach Pascal.

From bench to starter. From nervous to confident. From strangers to a pack 🐺

They aren't just athletes. They are young men building something that'll last well beyond the final whistle.

More Than a Game: Daytona Homes Wolves is brought to you by Daytona Homes and Free Play for Kids.

Episode 5 — Daytona Homes U17 Wolves: Stronger Together

This season, Daytona Homes didn't just sponsor a team, they showed up.

From the first game to the final whistle, Daytona Homes and their staff are a part of the U17 Boys Wolves soccer team. Cheering from the sidelines in branded gear, hosting video shoots on construction sites or in show homes, and politely demanding a rematch scrimmage to avenge the first. The Daytona team cheering on a group of U17 boys who've been building toward this season for years with some of these kids starting at Free to Play in elementary school!

For the Free Play for Kids and the Wolves, that kind of partnership means everything. It means sport, mentorship, and community stays accessible to every kid who wants to play regardless of a family's financial situation.

For Daytona Homes, it means getting to watch young athletes learn, grow, and push each other through a full season. Joining these young men on the field to share experiences about work and life, shows they want to be part of the Edmonton community they are invested in building.

We wrapped the season with a scrimmage, a Sport to Life lesson on celebrating others, a Player of the Season jersey (congrats Isaac! 🎉), and perhaps too much pizza washed down with grape Crush. Daytona Homes and the U17 Boys Wolves soccer team celebrate a successful 25/26 campaign.

Stronger together.

Thank you, Daytona Homes 🐺 🏠
