Experience the Principles of Healthy Child Development training – your guide for connecting with children aged four to twelve, rooted in extensive research and hands-on experience; become a Caring Leader, shaping their experience to prioritize quality programs, ensuring children not only grow but develop within their abilities. Take a child-focused approach to your recreation and sport programs by learning about the five evidence based principles essential to quality programs.

This 4-Hour online certification training will provide you with the background and knowledge on becoming an effective Caring Leader by understanding the core Principles of Healthy Child Development as identified by High Five. After taking this course, you will have a greater understanding of how the five principles, as well as how to use them to improve your current programming. 

Please note: As this is certification training, a device with access to a working camera, microphone, speaker and internet connection will be required. A Zoom link will be provided in advance via email.

Only 25 spots available

Minimum participant age is 16 years old.

HIGH FIVE® is a global quality standard for recreation and sport developed by Parks and Recreation Ontario with the support and endorsement of the Province of Ontario. Since its inception in 1994, the HIGH FIVE® standard and related tools, training materials and processes have been continually refined with input from sport and recreation professionals as well as experts in fields of healthy child development, quality assurance and quantitative and qualitative research 

HIGH FIVE® is Canada’s comprehensive quality standard for organizations that provide recreation and sport programs for children aged 4 to 12 and adults 55+.
