Celebrating Coach Mike’s Impact










Mike Dufresne, lead coach of our Free to Play program at Balwin School, is a recipient of this year’s Division Recognition Award for his exceptional contributions to the school community. Over the past two years, Coach Mike has led the Free to Play program with a focus on creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where students of all abilities can thrive. His approach to learning through sport emphasizes not only physical activity but also personal growth, teamwork, and leadership development.

The selection committee highlighted that Coach Mike’s impact goes far beyond the playing field. He works closely with school staff to ensure an enjoyable experience for students, supporting their emotional and social well-being.
