Barrier-Free After-School Sport & Social Development
Free to Play is a no-cost, daily after-school program delivered at 26 high-needs elementary schools in Edmonton. It is designed for Grades 3 to 6. Each session combines sport, mentorship, and Social Emotional Learning (SEL), with a focus on physical literacy, mental wellness, and equity.
Daily Schedule: Sport, SEL, and snack until 5:00 PM.
Weekly: Food literacy classes with take-home food hampers.
Accessibility: Free registration, coaching, equipment, and transportation.
This program creates inclusive, nurturing environments where all children, regardless of background, ability, or neurodiversity, can grow and belong.
26 Schools, 20 kids per school = 520 kids participate in a school year
