Marketing Support

Job Summary

Free Play for Kids is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Marketing Support team member. This role is ideal for someone passionate about visual storytelling, digital communications, and design. You’ll play a key role in supporting our media and communications efforts—from updating our website and crafting newsletters to designing proposals and supporting overall organizational messaging.

Education & Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a post-secondary program in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field

  • Experience in digital marketing, communications, or graphic design (volunteer or paid)

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (G Suite), Zoom, and Microsoft Office

  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification

  • Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check

  • Previous experience with youth-focused or community-based organizations is an asset

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining and updating the Free Play website

  • Support the creation of monthly newsletters and other digital communications

  • Help design presentations, proposals, and reports for internal and external use

  • Collaborate with the team on communications strategies and storytelling projects

  • Organize and manage digital assets (photos, videos, design files)

  • Ensure all media content aligns with Free Play’s values and visual identity

  • Contribute to social media content creation as needed

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong written and visual communication skills

  • Basic knowledge of website platforms (e.g., Squarespace)

  • Familiarity with design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently

  • Interest in youth programming, sport, and community impact

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Position Conditions

  • This is a part-time paid position of approximately 15 - 20 hours per week

  • Primarily Monday to Friday with occasional flexibility based on project needs

  • Work may be done in-office or remotely, depending on the task
