Training & Curriculum Developer
Job Summary
Free Play for Kids is seeking a Training & Curriculum Developer to lead the design, implementation, and refinement of Free Play’s Sport To Life - Coach 2 and 3 curriculum. This role ensures that the Sport To Life curriculum is woven into all programming to support all Free Play Participants, develop strong coaches, and promote holistic growth.
Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Director of Programs, program managers, and head coaches, this role combines curriculum design, training, and evaluation to ensure a consistent and impactful experience for the Free To Play participants as well as the staff.
Responsibilities
Curriculum Development (40–50%)
Lead development of Sport to Life - Coach 2 & 3 curriculum.
Integrate SEL, equity, and trauma-informed practices.
Collaborate with program teams to ensure day-to-day relevance.
Align with LTAD, Sport for Life, and Free Play values.
Regularly revise the curriculum based on feedback and outcomes.
Training & Facilitation (30–35%)
Design and facilitate Sport To Life workshops, refreshers, and sections of onboarding sessions.
Mentor and support coaches transitioning through levels.
Build facilitation guides and training resources.
Provide ongoing support through office hours and feedback sessions.
Evaluation & Feedback (15–20%)
Develop success metrics and track learning outcomes.
Collect and analyze feedback from staff, youth, and families.
Support individual coaching plans and team development goals.
Recommend improvements and report progress to leadership.
